North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (more commonly referred to as North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina A&T, NC A&T, or just A&T) is a historically black public research university enrolling more than 10,000 students. Located in Greensboro, North Carolina, it the largest publicly funded historically black institution in North Carolina.
U.S. News & World Report ranks North Carolina A&T 8th among national universities, and 1st among public historically black universities. The university's engineering program is highly regarded, and consistently awards more undergraduate engineering degrees to African-Americans than any other program in the country. North Carolina A&T is one of the nation's top producers of African-American engineers, psychology undergraduates, CPAs, veterinarians, and landscape architects.
North Carolina A&T is part of the University of North Carolina system. It is organized into seven schools and two professional colleges, and offers a total of 177 undergraduate, 30 master, and 9 doctoral degree programs.

North Carolina A&T University is one of the pioneers of online distance learning for students seeking a non-traditional degree program designed for working adults and professionals. NC A&T online degree provide the same high quality education and instruction as the school's campus-based degree programs. All online degrees are offered through the Center for Distance Learning, in cooperation with discipline specific academic departments.
Distance learning programs at NC A&T include; online certificate programs, in family and consumers sciences; online undergraduate degree programs in agriculture, education, information technology, geomatics and environmental safety and health; and online graduate degrees in agricultural education, information technology, instructional technology and technology management.
