Maybe you bought a new phone and which you would want to use your main sim card on the phone, but you’re confused as to what will happen.

So I’m here to explain that to you, to clear your doubts on taking out a sim card and putting it into another phone.

If you take out your sim card and put it in another phone, you will be able to access all the contact information stored in the sim from the other phone.

This will only be possible if the other phone is compatible with the sim card or they are not carrier locked.

You know some usually think that when you insert a sim card into another phone, text messages previously received on the sim will show up when the sim card is inserted into the other phone.

That isn’t the case and such will never happen.

When a sim card is taken out and inserted into another phone, all the phone contacts stored in the sim will be shown on the other phone if the contacts are saved in the sim card.

Your main sim card is in the s20 with all messages received in the phone through the sim card. If you remove the sim card from the s20 and insert it into the S21 Ultra, those messages will never be there.

The messages will still be in the galaxy s20 phone, only new messages will be saved in the galaxy s21 ultra.

All previous calls won’t be displayed on the other phone. Just like the text messages, all calls made and received will still be in the first phone, later calls calls will be shown on the other phone.

Your whatsapp chats will still remain in the main phone, and you will still receive whatsapp messages on the main phone cause you have already connected the phone with your whatsapp account.

What happens to texts when sim card is out?

The texts will remain in the phone, and it won’t be deleted or removed immediately the sim card is taken out from the phone.

This is the case if you’re using both android phone or the iPhone, as text messages remain in the phone even after taken out the SIM card from the phone.

Even if you remove your sim card and put a new sim into the phone, the text messages will still remain in the phone unless you go ahead and delete the texts from your phone.

So what I’m trying to explain to you is that text messages received are not stored in the sim card but rather the phone.

So if you remove your sim card from your mobile phone, all the received text messages will still remain in the phone.

Before I go, as long as you have an unlocked phone, you remove your sim card and put it into the unlocked phone. It will receive network coverage and you can makes and receive calls, receive and send text messages, send voice messages, etc.

Where the problem lies is if the sim card is carrier locked and same with the phone, you can’t insert any sim card into the phone cause it won’t receive any network coverage on the phone because the phone is carrier locked or the sim card is carrier locked.

Will you lose data if you take out sim card

You won’t lose data when you take out your sim card unless you stored contacts in your sim card. Also when you take out your sim there won’t be cellular network service on your phone and this will prevent you from receiving sms text messages and cellular calls. 

Kindly note that there is no big deal when it comes to removing or changing your sim.

Where the problem lies is when your means of internet connectivity is through cellular data, then it means you will be without internet on your phone until you insert a sim card into your phone 

If you don’t have an active Wi-Fi on your phone this literally means your phone will be offline if you happen to take out your sim card. 

Remember, all the sms text messages received in your phone will still be there if you happen to taken out your sim card and also it won’t affect your call log. But subsequent text messages will no longer be available on your phone. 

What happens if you don’t have a sim card for your iPhone? 

If you don’t have a sim card for your iPhone in you won’t be able to use cellular data, make and receive calls and as well as send and receive sms text messages.

In other words, your phone will be offline except if you have an active Wi-Fi on your iPhone. Since we have the iMessage and facetime you can do away with sms text messages and calls except if the recipient isn’t using an apple product like the iPhone, iPad or the Apple watch.

Aside from that we have the google voice which is pretty much free especially the personal account and which you can use to make and receive calls, and also send and receive text messages from any given phone number.

What happens if i remove and reinsert your sim card?

If you remove and reinsert someone sim card in your phone, you can basically copy all the contacts saved in the sim card. 

You can also receive calls and text messages sent to the person. However, there are apps which you can use to collect personal information of the person linked to the sim card. Only hackers are able to do this unless you too are into hacking.

If you take out your sim card and put it in another iphone, you can literally copy informations from the sim in your iPhone. Mostly it will be contacts if they are saved in the sim card. 

Others include sms text messages and calls will be received in the other iPhone. Through your sim card someone can get your bank information if linked to that particular sim card and this is why it is very crucial not to give your sim card to someone you don’t know or trust very much.
