Trader Joe's Wood Fired Naples Style Uncured Pepperoni Pizza

The Trader Joe's Wood Fired Naples Style Uncured Pepperoni Pizza gives frozen pizzas a good name. The crust browns beautifully, its cheese melts smoothly, and its pepperoni develops just the right amount of grease. The best part? It takes under 10 minutes to make!

This is the first bad review for me and I hate to do so because I love TJ, but truly the worst frozen pizza I’ve ever had and sadly I bought two of them. Will never buy again. Like another review said, tastes only like tomato sauce.

The pros:  Trader Joe's Pepperoni Pizza was crispy and and had lots of pepperoni.

The cons: More sauce than was necessary and my pepperoni wasn’t evenly placed. I know that seems a bit petty, but when cut into 4 slices there was actually one plain slice.

The verdict:  For $4.99 this is one of the better sections in the frozen pizza section of Trader Joe’s. The pizza was hot and ready in under 10 minutes. The crust was very crisp to bite into. The bottom managed to get some of the same crispness in just 8 minutes. Had I left it in the oven longer, it might have been even crisper. There was a lot of sauce here making the pizza almost slightly soggy. The star here is the pepperoni. They put quite a bit on there so if that’s what you enjoy, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

My only complaint is that some how the placement of the pepperoni was kind of odd as I managed to get an entire slice (I cut this into 4 slices) with no pepperoni at all. Mine seems to have shifted all to the other sides. There was sufficient amounts of cheese to ensure nice stringy bites.

My husband gave this an enthusiastic thumbs up and so did I. If you are looking for a more New York style pizza, this is probably the closest you’ll get in the freezer aisle. We will be buyingTrader Joe's Pepperoni Pizza again.

How do you make Trader Joe's uncured pepperoni pizza?

Today's frozen food is the Trader Joe's Wood Fired Naples Style Uncured Pepperoni Pizza. This is pretty simple to cook. Simply preheat your oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit, then put in the pizza for about ten minutes. No, unlike some of the personal pizzas on the market, this cannot be cooked in the microwave.

Does Trader Joe's have uncured pepperoni?

And folks, our new Gluten Free Uncured Pepperoni Pizza is just that. They say a pizza is only as good as its crust, and Trader Joe's Gluten Free Uncured Pepperoni Pizza's hearty, cauliflower crust—also made with rice flour, chickpea flour, & cornstarch—is a knockout.

How long do you cook Trader Joe's frozen pizza?

We used the oven instructions, which has us preheat the oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit, then stick our pizzas (we made two) on a cookie sheet and bake for ten minutes. (Ours admittedly took a few extra minutes to get just right.) The crust has an artisan feel to it — it's soft in the middle and crispy around the edges.

Is Trader Joes pizza made in Italy?

It is about 11 inches in diameter - a big personal sized pie. Cleverly, the box is branded "Trader Giotto's." The pies are imported from Italy, and the box proclaims that the pizza was baked in a wood-burning oven.
