We know that whatever we ask for believing that we will receive (Matthew 21:22). Just as Solomon asked for wisdom to rule over God’s people, we too should ask for wisdom to make choices in our everyday lives. When we ask for wisdom, we know God will grant it onto us.
The Bible makes it clear what wisdom is; the fear of the Lord. We are wise when we choose to serve God and we have understanding when we depart from evil. Let us then pray for God to help us to be willing to serve him and to resist temptation.
Do you know that your time on earth is limited? We only have a short time on this earth and we shouldn’t waste it. When we consider our mortality, we know that we need to make the right choices every day in order to maintain our relationship with Christ.
When God grants us wisdom and understanding, we will become more content in our decision making because we know that God is guiding us.
Wisdom and understanding go hand in hand. Wisdom is the ‘know-how’ and understanding is the application. God helps us to know exactly what we need to do when he gives us wisdom, it is then our choice to put that knowledge into action.
People are going to know that you serve a mighty and intelligent God. When we rely on God’s understanding rather than our own, his light shines through us and others will know that God is working.
Having money is great and can be a great source of gaining protection. But the difference between wisdom and money is that wisdom can preserve the life of those who fear God.
