For those of you that grew up during the 1980's, how many remember those waving hands that you would see in the semi truck windshields? Does anyone know where I can find one? I have checked at truck stops, ebay etc. They apparently aren't available anymore.

Don't have a clue why you would want one but you asked . . . .

Hi everyone,
I am seeking a retro accessories for my bug. Those who were kids in the 70-80s will remember the plastic waving hand in the rear side window of mom
s car. Mounted on a spring and succion cup base, the hand kept waving at every stop.

Would you happen to know where I can find any of those retro waving hand?

regards
jf

Hi vwovale56,

If you haven't already, you may want to explore your local gift/gag-gift/novelty-type stores.

I was able to find one a few years ago at my local novelty store (they do not have a website):

But, it does not have any manufacturer/company markings on it and I have been unable to find a similar one online (although, interestingly, I came across a post about a recent patent application for a "window-mounted waving [peace sign] hand" here: //www.your-story.org/window-mounted-waving-hand-7138/).

I am planning on going to my local novelty store this weekend and I'll look to see if they have any waving hands for sale.
If so, I'll write down the manufacturer/company info and let you know...

If not, you could probably make one rather easily out of cardboard or wood (its been a while since I looked, but you may be able to find a pre-cutout hand shape at a craft store).

Hope that gives you some ideas!

Take care,
BayDreamin

Even the new ones are hard to find-- my local novelty store is no longer selling them...

Good luck with your search!
