Our Court's Mission

Our mission is to resolve civil disputes and criminal indictments in a fair and timely manner and at a reasonable expense in accordance with the laws of Ohio.  We also strive to provide for community safety by supervising and rehabilitating offenders post sentence by carefully addressing offender needs to eliminate criminal activity.

Jurisdiction

The Tuscarawas County Court of Common Pleas, General Trial Division, is a trial court with countywide jurisdiction in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.  Each county has its own court of common pleas, which is part of the state court system of Ohio.

The court of common pleas has jurisdiction in three main types of cases: Domestic, Civil and Criminal.

How do I look up court cases in Philadelphia?

Search and view individual court case information (including docket sheets)—for free—please go to the UJS web portal. Search, view and print Unified Judicial System (UJS) contract summaries, detailed expenditure data, monthly salary and annual compensation reports.

Can you look up court cases in Pennsylvania?

Public access to case information is available in the Clerk of Courts' office during normal business hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Criminal history information is also available through Court records on the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System website.

What types of cases are heard in the Court of Common Pleas?

A common pleas court has legal authority over adult felony criminal cases, bigger civil cases, and all other cases not handled by another, more specialized court.
