Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy this Soil for Indoor Plants I purchased Miracle Gro Potting Mix to use in my indoor plants as the label states it can be used for Indoors/Outdoors. Prior to using this soil all of my plants were healthy and had no bugs. However, now all the soil in the plants that I used this potting mix in are infested with gnats (tiny flies) and the other day I found mushrooms growing out of one of my pots. Apparently other people have had the same issue as you can see from the other reviews. Save yourself the trouble and don't buy this soil for your indoor plants, otherwise you'll be spending all of your time trying to get rid of flies. I would recommend buying soil specifically for indoor use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Josephine367 from this item was awful! I have been purchasing Miracle Gro products for years, and have been satisfied until recently, I purchased the potting mix to transplant some plants. About a week or so after my plants were transplanted I started noticing little flies around my plants. I checked in the pots and there was little larvae in the soil. I took the soil from the plants and rinsed them thoroughly then went to get the bag of soil and when I opened it up, dozens of those little flies flew out. The soil I purchased was infested with the bugs. Gross! I don't know if it because this soil has so much mulch in it or not. I know I will not be purchasing this ever again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by RachelleW from My Plants are So Healthy I use Miracle-Grow Potting Mix for my flowers and vegetable planting needs. I will only use Miracle-Grow and have never had any issues with the soil. My flowers have lasted longer, look more vibrant, grow more quickly, and are more large in size. I constantly have compliments on my flowers. For my vegetables I use the same potting mix because it works amazing for vegetables too! My vegetables have grown larger and seem to last longer as well. I would never use a different soil. After the compliments and just the proof from the mound of vegetables I had this year and my beautiful flowers I will never use another brand again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Fungus Gnats!! I bought a bag of the Miracle grown Garden soil and immediately regretted buying it. I had only used this in a railing flower bed for my herbs. They have no infested all of my plants and I still have not been able to get rid of them! I have them inside on my house plants too now! I had the bag still, rolled up, and when I went to open it, FLIES EVERYWHERE! I threw the whole bag out! I have used multiple bug killers and no have sticky traps everywhere!! They help until you have to water your plants..... they just keep coming back. I will probably have to deal with this all year until the winter months when everything dies... Not impressed and will never buy Miracle grow again!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MGfan4life from Only potting soil we'll buy from now on I used to see the commercials on TV with comparisons of plants grown in miracle gro vs. plants not grown in miracle gro and think, "yeah, right! Dirt is dirt." Well, not anymore! I have three planters on the same deck rail and all three were planted on the same day and the plants all came from the same greenhouse. One had all new miracle gro potting mix and the others had last year's dirt slightly amended. The plants in miracle gro are twice the size and the amount of flowers.... Night and day. You can clearly see the difference in my attached pictures. Awesome product and you have a customer for life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Holley from Mulch and Gnats Mix I had bought the Moisture control a few months back and the “soil” would stay moist and started rotting all of my plants. So, I decided to go back to the regular type of potting soil even though I was previously having the same problem gnats and soil not drying after weeks. Apparently, nothing has changed and perhaps worse. This bag is basically an overpriced bag of fertilized mulch. Which has really increased the gnats that I was previously trying to rid the previous plants with other Miracle gro soil of. Not sure what to do now since most stores seem to only carry miracle gro or cheap brands. Maybe I’ll buy the cheap kind without gnats and amend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Marti from Weeds! I bought a bag of the potting mix on December 31 to pot some new plants. I spent the day getting them settled in their new homes and now, a week later, I have weeds growing with my plants! These are new pots, the plants have been watered with water from my tap, and there wasn't even nursery soil or anything else you could blame the weeds on - these are clippings that were growing roots in a vase of water that got planted in a pot of 100% new Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. This is ridiculous! I would not recommend this product at all. The same little sprouts are coming up in my pots with different plants. Who ever heard of having to weed their houseplants!?!

Rated 1 out of 5 by sjfile from Fungus gnats, seemingly an old story I know now I'm late to this party, but it took me re-potting 2 plants over the course of a few months, and getting fungus gnats suddenly in both before i thought to check if there was a connection to the soil I was using. Lo and behold, Miracle-Gro seems to have quite a reputation online for harboring fungus gnats, which are a huge pain to deal with in your house. I know Miracle-Gro has their standard response about it being a natural product and thus prone to infestation etc blah blah. But no other soil seem to have the problem as consistently as theirs so, natural or not, they may want to think about doing something to combat the problem. I certainly wont be buying any more Miracle-Gro until they do.
