TAMPA, Fla—This summer, MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre is making some upgrades and improvements to the stadium.

The amphitheater wants to encourage customers to come for the food and stay for the music with their new food menu, featuring signature dishes from food-loving celebrities:

  • Questlove’s Cheesesteak, the Grammy Award-winning musician’s innovative spin on the Philly classic made with Impossible plant-based meat
  • Italian dishes from Top Chef’s Fabio Viviani
  • Chef Tim Love’s signature smoked BBQ
  • Hand-crafted gourmet hotdogs and sausages from Dog Haus

In addition to the food menu, Live Nation has introduced a brand-new signature cocktail program, a specially curated drink menu available only at Live Nation theaters, including MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre.

Other upgrades to the venue include:

  • State-of-the-art 21-foot-wide LED screens that make every spot on the lawn an incredible concert experience
  • Addition of a new reserved lawn seating section in the center front of the lawn and a brand-new center lawn bar
  • New bars including a cocktail bar on the east plaza and an exclusive wine bar
  • Improved parking with One Way Valet and Ultra Premier Parking across the street from the venue
  • A new food court concept that will feature California Pizza Kitchen, Greek cuisine, Cuban sandwiches, smoothies, Thai options, BBQ and more
  • Refillable water stations
  • Large 20-foot fans throughout the reserved seat section
  • Newly renovated plazas
  • Newly renovated restrooms

The MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds is the largest outdoor amphitheater in the Tampa Bay area. The venue offers a combination of covered, non-covered and lawn seating arrangements. Acts that have performed at the amphitheater include Coldplay, Blink 182, Bob Dylan, Backstreet Boys, Aerosmith, and many others. It’s also home to 97X’s annual Next Big Thing rock festival.

The amphitheater was originally named Ford Amphitheatre, and it has undergone several name changes since it adopted its current name in 2013. The seats are located at the rear of the venue. VIP seating is available, and there is also a dedicated handicap-accessible seating area. It has a capacity of 9,000 reserved seats and more than 10,000 can be accommodated on the lawn area. Low-back lawn chairs are allowed, and lawn chair rentals are available onsite.

Parking lots are located adjacent to the venue, and parking fees are typically included in the ticket price. VIP parking is available on a per-show basis, but prices may vary. The venue is also accessible by taxi or bus.

All bags are subject to inspection upon entry. Hard coolers are not allowed, and only one-gallon soft-sided collapsible coolers are accepted. Food is only allowed if placed in one-gallon clear plastic bags. One sealed bottle of water is allowed per patron. Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are not allowed.

The venue allows small umbrellas in case of rain. Personal cameras and phone cameras are allowed but flash photography, cameras with removable lenses, and recording equipment are prohibited.

Different attractions nearby include Busch Gardens Tampa, Rock Spa, Ybor City Historic Walking Tours, and Yuengling Brewery.

What is reserved lawn MidFlorida?

The Reserved Lawn section is typically in the middle of the venue behind section 14 at MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre. This area will only be able to be accessed by those with a reserved lawn tickets. The biggest benefit of these seats is not having to arrive early to get a clear view from the lawn.

What is reserved lawn seating?

Reserved lawn is a special section of the lawn that is barricaded off. It is located right in front of the big monitor and you get a lawn chair provided. It is a premium lawn seating experience. The numbers are limited and all the seats are good, so you don't have to get there first.

Can you take lawn chairs to Mid Florida Amphitheater?

Items Permitted: Food allowed in one gallon clear plastic bag. One sealed bottle of water per patron. Low profile lawn chairs/ deck chairs no higher than 9″ from the floor.

Can you rent chairs at MidFlorida Amphitheater?

Our 2022 Season kicks off VERY soon! 🎶 As a reminder, there will be NO OUTSIDE LAWN CHAIRS permitted into the venue. Lawn Chairs are available to rent at $10.00 each, subject to availability.
