A video camera needs power and then will deliver video image. This camera can transfer the video via wireless network but when it comes to power, then you need to provide power with the included power adapter, cable attached to the camera is 10ft and the one attached to the AC/DC adapter is like 3ft so that is the max distance you can install this camera from a power outlet without additional hardware. Unless this meet your needs, you are better off using POE cameras: when it comes to these cameras, you only run a single network cable and that one will provide power and will get the video from the camera all in one single cable. With CAT5 cable, the distance between camera and the recorded is 100m or 328ft. If you need more distance you can use media converters so that is the more convenient way to go.

This was fairly easy to install. They do have to be plugged in. They are not wireless. Even still, if you know what you're doing you can hide the wires. The app was easy to install and monitoring hasn't been a problem. I haven't had a lot of activity with mine at night except for the occasional cat or opossum. But, so far we're happy with the whole set up.

It wasn't too hard to install you can definitely do it yourself. It works on Wi-Fi and has a Hub so you can see all three cameras at one time. The motion detection and night vision are decent. The image quality is great and I really liked having a hug and it working off of Wi-Fi. The app for it is great and has a lot of features and it works with Alexa and Google which makes it one of my favorites.

These cameras are
replacing a set I’ve been using for a number of years. They work really well.
PROS:
+ Three of them in one package—that’s a good deal
+ Easy setup. Once the app is installed and registered, I selected the (+) icon, the screen showed a QR code, point the camera at it and done!
+ Seem quite robust with metal body. These are designed for outdoors so I think they will last. That said, I’m only using one of them in an outdoor setting. The other two are indoors, replacing the old cameras
which started acting up.
+ Fairly easy mounting (see below).
+ Good app. Has some nice features. While the cameras are fixed (the previous ones could be turned), the wide-angle lens allows you to zoom and scan just by sweeping your fingers across the screen.
+ Excellent resolution at HD with option to use SD setting to save bandwidth
+ Excellent night vision. Very clear.
+ Options for motion detection which seems quite sensitive. Probably won’t use though, since I have an alarm
system.
CONS:
- I did have a little trouble keeping the connection with the first camera I set up. But after restarting the app and setting up the other two cameras it settled down. Might have been the wifi.
- The screw locations are somewhat occluded by the camera. It was a little tricky getting the screws in.
OTHER:
~ Since I wanted to use two of the camera indoors and didn’t want to attach them to the wall, I had to make bases for them. The cameras will not stand on their own
bases.
SUMMARY:
I am very pleased with these cameras. I remember setting up the old ones years ago and it was a real pain (involving holding the smartphone to the speaker of the camera to hear the startup tone! Multiple times until it responded). This installation was soooo much easier.
Highly recommended.
