  1. What is PayPal top-up?

    It's a feature that allows you to transfer money from your personal or joint-alternate DBS S$ Current/Autosave, DBS Savings Plus, POSB Savings/Current Account to your PayPal account. You can then use the funds or balance in your PayPal account to pay for online purchases.

  2. Can I use any DBS/POSB account to top-up my PayPal account?

    Only Singapore DBS/POSB Savings and Current accounts, denominated in Singapore Dollars are supported at present.

  3. Do I need to set up PayPal as a bill payee if I'm topping up for the first time?

  4. How do I go about setting up PayPal as a bill payee for the first time?

  5. What is a Consumer Reference Number and where do I find it?

    This is a unique ID between each PayPal account and DBS/POSB account. It is a 15-digit alphanumeric character which you will need to enter via DBS/POSB iBanking when adding PayPal as a payee.

    To retrieve your PayPal Consumer Reference Number, log in to your PayPal account and click 'Top Up' in the navigation menu.

  6. How long does it take for the top-up amount to be reflected in my PayPal account?

    Typically, it takes 1-2 business days when you top-up using a DBS/POSB bank account.

  7. How much does it cost to top-up my PayPal account?

    It is free. There's no charge from us or from PayPal.

  8. Is there a minimum or maximum top-up amount?

    No. You can choose to top-up any amount you like, subject to the amount you have in your DBS/POSB Savings or Current Account.

  9. What if my money doesn't appear in my PayPal account? Who can I contact for assistance?

    You may contact either PayPal at 6510 4650 or our call centre at 1800 111 1111. Remember, it typically takes 1-2 business days for the top-up amount to be reflected in your PayPal account.

    Top-up made to your PayPal account will take 1 business day to process and top-up made after 11:30PM (or 8:30PM on the last business day of the month) will take 2 business days.

  10. Can I top-up my PayPal account from my local bank branch?

    PayPal top-up at DBS/POSB's local bank branches is currently not supported.

  11. Can I top-up my PayPal account from the ATM, AXS or S.A.M machine or other channels besides Internet Banking?

    No. Currently this service is only available through the Internet Banking channel. ATM, AXS or S.A.M machines currently do not support this service.

  12. What is the difference if I top-up with other Singapore bank accounts instead of DBS/POSB accounts?

    PayPal allows top-up of your Paypal account using bank accounts with certain banks other than DBS/POSB. With DBS/POSB bank accounts, the top-up amount will typically be available in your PayPal account in just 1-2 business days. With other Singapore bank accounts, it is expected to take 4-6 business days.

    *Note: PayPal top-up is currently not supported with UOB

  13. Will I receive an email notification after I have completed my top-up?

    Yes. PayPal will send you a confirmation email once the top-up amount appears in your PayPal account.

How can I check my PayPal balance?

The simplest way to check your PayPal account balance is to either log into the app on your mobile device or visit the PayPal website. Once you're logged in, your account balance will get displayed right on the main page. You can see your current balance on the Account Summary page.
