500ml to ounces
500ml converts to 16.91 US fluid ounces or 17.6 British Imperial fluid ounces. This conversion is for fluid ounces and not dry ounces.
The fluid ounce is used to measure volume, where-as the dry ounce is used to measure weight. So, if you're trying to measure the weight of a bottle of drink or an ingredient, you'll need to factor in the density of the substance in order to get a weight figure. For reference, a 500ml bottle of water weighs around 17.64 ounces (500g) and a 500ml bottle of milk weighs around 18.25 ounces.
You can, of course, use our converter at the top of this page to help you convert to dry ounces. Simply select 'Dry Ounces' in the dropdown menu. For help with gram conversions, you can use our ml and grams converter tool.
750ml to ounces
750ml converts to 25.36 US fluid ounces or 26.4 British Imperial fluid ounces. Remember that US fluid ounces are slightly larger than British fluid ounces.
How to convert ounces to milliliters
To convert US fluid ounces to milliliters, multiply your fluid ounces figure by 29.5735. If you're referencing British Imperial fluid ounces, multiply your figure by 28.4131 instead. The US fluid ounce is slightly larger than its British Imperial counterpart.
The fact that the there are two different volumetric measurements of fluid ounce may cause miscalculation, so its best to make sure you know which one you're referencing.
Although most units of volume in the US system are smaller than their corresponding units in the British system, the fluid ounce is an exception. The US fluid ounce is larger than the British fluid ounce because the British quart is divided into 40 fluid ounces, whereas the US quart is divided into only 32 fluid ounces. 1
