There’s nothing more embarrassing than being asked for your phone number by someone only to forget it. Especially if you use your phone for business, it can look incredibly unprofessional to stumble over your phone number. And for many of us with two phones, it certainly isn’t easy to remember a work number.

It is possible to quickly pull up your phone number in your phone on both iOS and Android. We’ll walk you through the steps and give you some more tips below!

If you’re an iPhone user, you’re likely to be used to your device’s simple layout and functionality. Fortunately, Apple has also made it incredibly simple to find your phone number.

If you open the Phone app, you can click on ‘Contacts‘ at the bottom of the screen. Then, tap on ‘My Card‘ to view your phone number. But, in some cases, only your address and username appears. So, if that’s the case for you, there’s another foolproof way to find your phone number.

Here’s how:

Open the Settings app on your phone and scroll down to ‘Phone.’ Tap on it.

Next, scroll down a bit more until your phone number appears.

Now, let’s go a bit further and add your phone number to your contacts card if it isn’t readily available.

Here’s how to add your phone number to your Contact Card on an iPhone:

Open the calling app on your phone and tap ‘Contacts’ at the bottom. Then tap on ‘My Card.’

Next, tap the ‘Edit’ option in the upper right-hand corner.

Enter your phone number and tap ‘Done’ in the upper right-hand corner.

Now, when you need to find your phone number, it’ll be listed right in your phone’s contacts.

What To Do If the Wrong Number Appears

If your phone number appears but it’s incorrect, there could be a number of reasons for this, and therefore a number of solutions. This can be incredibly simple or more complicated, depending on what’s causing the error.

First, if you recently changed your phone number, phone, or cell phone carrier, the likely cause is an error on the phone company’s part. If you changed your phone number, it will take some time to update on your phone (no more than one day usually). All you need to do is power cycle your phone and your new phone number should appear.

If you switched carriers, your phone number goes through a porting process that can take one to two days to complete. If you see a phone number that you don’t recognize, this is probably why.

If your number is wrong, but you’ve made no changes to your account, contact your cell phone carrier. You may need a new SIM card, or there could be an issue with your account.

Finally, many users who have noticed an issue with their phone number have fixed it by following the ‘Settings’>’Messages’>’iMessages’ and turn off iMessage, then turn it back on. This should refresh your phone and update your phone number.

Finding your phone number on Android 10 is just as simple as iOS. But, if you’re using an older version of Android, there are additional steps you need to take.

First, try this:

1. Open your phone and select Contacts.
2. Select Me from the top of the list to see your number.

If you don’t see Me in your contacts, you may need to dig a little deeper.

Try:

2. Select Status and SIM Status and then My Phone Number.

Your last option to find your phone number in Android is to phone a friend. As long as they won’t laugh at you too much, you can phone them and record your number somewhere or add it as per the instructions below.

You can easily add your phone number to your contacts by tapping the ‘Edit’ button in your calling app, as shown above. But, what can you do if your phone number isn’t showing up at all?

Some users have stated that their phone number says ‘Unknown’ in the Settings on their phone. If this is happening to you, there are a few fixes.

First, try turning your phone off and back on again. If this doesn’t work, go to your phone’s Settings and follow the ‘Connections’>’More Connections’>’Reset Network Settings’ path. Your phone will turn off and back on, then the number should appear.
