These are some of the many queries that I have got recently about Google account recovery. When I wanted to recover my Gmail email password, I figured that there are two major ways to do it. I learned how to recover my Gmail account password without a recovery email and with it. Therefore, to help you perform Gmail password recovery, I have included both these solutions in this guide.

You might already know that Gmail lets us connect our account with a secondary email ID. If you want, you can use the recovery email ID to reset the password of your primary Gmail account. Though, even if you can’t access the recovery email, you can still reset your account via the linked phone number.

Therefore, to recover your Gmail password without a secondary email, you need to have access to the linked phone in advance. Afterward, just go through these steps to learn how to recover Gmail account password without a recovery email.

Step 1: Start the account recovery process

At first, just go to the Gmail log-in page and simply enter your email ID (or your phone number). When it would ask you to enter your password instead, then click on the “Forgot password?” button to launch the Google account recovery wizard.

Step 2: Verify the connected phone number

At first, Google will ask you to enter the recovery email ID where a dedicated email would be sent. Instead of that, you can click on the “Try another way” button at the bottom. Here, you can just enter the phone number that you have earlier linked to your Google account.

Once you verify your phone number, Google will automatically send a one-time generated code. You can now enter the code on the recovery wizard to recover your email password without a secondary email.

That’s it! After the verification process is completed, you can create a new password for your account and submit it again to confirm it.

Part 2: How to Recover Gmail Password Without Phone Number and Recovery Email?

The above method works when you have bound your Gmail or google email account with your phone number. But what if you haven’t submitted your phone number and also don’t have a recovery email? Check the following steps to recover your Gmail password without phone number and recovery email.

Step 1: Go to Google Account Recovery

Search Google Account Recovery in the browser, and tap on Google Account Recovery. Though you don’t have a recovery mail and phone number, you still need to choose one of them to enter in the section to let Google recognize which account you were trying to recover. So, fill in your email address or phone number. Then, click Next to move on.

Step 2: Try another way to sign in

Here you will see three options for you to select. To recover your Gmail password without recovery mail and phone number, tap on "Try another way to sign in".

Step 3: Try another way

Here it will ask for your phone number to get the password back. This way will work if you’ve provided your phone number before. However, since we are talking about how to recover a Gmail password without recovery mail and phone number, we need to choose to "Try another way".

Step 4: Still Try another way

Now it will take you to the next page after clicking Try another way, which is to "Get a verification code". This will work only if you’ve provided your phone number.

If your account doesn’t bound with your phone number or you don’t have access to your phone, tap "Try another way" on the page.

Step 5: Wait for the Recovery Link

Once you clicked on Try another way, it will lead you to the page that saying "Check after 24 hours".

After 24 hours, Google will send you a link to reset your account’s password. You can check it by logging in to your account on any device. Check the mail and tap on the link to reset your password. Then follow the instruction it provides to complete the process.

Part 3: How to Recover a Gmail Password With a Recovery Email?

Apart from a linked phone number, you can also recover your Gmail password with its recovery email. While creating your Gmail account, you must have entered a recovery email ID. If you can still access it, then the secondary email can be used to reset your account. To learn how to recover a Gmail password using a recovery email, follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the Gmail account recovery process

Just like the above process, you can first go to the log-in page of Gmail and enter your email ID. Since you don’t remember the password of your account, click on the “Forgot password” button instead.

Step 2: Submit the recovery email ID

Now, Google will simply ask you to submit the recovery email ID that would be used to reset your account. Simply enter the complete email address and log-in to your recovery account after that.

Step 3: Recover your Gmail email password

Afterward, Google will automatically send a verification email to your secondary account. You can just click on the verification link to reset your password or enter the authentication code on the setup wizard. This will let you recover your Gmail password easily.

Part 4: How to Reset Your Gmail Password?

As you can see, it is pretty easy to learn how to recover a Gmail account password with a recovery email (or without it). Though, you don’t have to go through so much hassle if you can already access your Gmail account. In case you can already sign-in to your Google account, then you can reset its password in the following way.

Step 1: Go to your Google account settings

To start with, you can just go to your Google account (or Gmail inbox). Now, click on your avatar from the top-right corner and choose to manage your Google account.

Step 2: Choose to reset the password

Once you launch your Google account settings, just visit the “Security” panel from the sidebar. Here, look for the sign-in options and click on the feature to change your account’s password.
