About the Artist:

Ashby was born in 1967 and raised in Orem, Utah. He studied drawing and illustration at UVSC and later printmaking and drawing at Brigham Young University. Since then, he has studied Classical painting with Vermont artist Frank Covino and a handful of talented local artists. He has lectured and taught and had one-man shows in the West and his work has graced collections throughout the U.S. Europe, and Asia Pacific Regions. For years Darin's pencil drawings have been highly sought after and his most popular depiction of the hand of the resurrected savior signing "I love you" in American Sign Language has sold over 97,000 prints world wide. "I have always loved pencil drawings in fine detail and creating a black and white image with the use of value only. I love the emotion and feeling that black and white images can convey. They are always fresh when you see them. Drawing for so long has been very rewarding and has prepared me for painting in the classical academic methods of the masters."
