General troubleshooting
Step 1. Reboot speaker or display
- Disconnect the power cable from your speaker or display.
- Reconnect power cable back into your speaker or display.
Step 2. Force close and reopen the Google Home app
Step 3. Try to manually connect to the device's hotspot from your phone or tablet’s Wi-Fi settings
- Go to the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device.
- Open the list of available WiFi networks and look for an available network with the name
“GoogleHomeXXXX" (where XXXX is a random number).
- Note:If you previously set up your device and have not factory reset it since it got kicked off of the network, look for the name of the device that you assigned to it in the list of available networks on your mobile device (Example: “Kitchen Home").
- If you can successfully connect to the speaker or display's SSID in your WiFi settings, open the Google Home app and try to set up the device.
Advanced troubleshooting
If you're still unable to connect, try the following:
- Try to set up your speaker or display using another supported iOS or Android device.
