Act 2 scene 2 summary romeo and juliet

Paris, a relative of the prince, asks Capulet for his daughter Juliet's hand in marriage. Capulet is initially reluctant to give his consent because Juliet is so young. Finally, however, he agrees to the match if Paris can gain Juliet's consent.

Act 2, scene 2 is the most famous and romantic scene in the whole of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the way Shakespeare has portrayed their love in such a unique and diverse way has created a new way of showing a forbidden love. The audience can really sense a change in the way the lovers feel about each other.
