Hi, I just picked up a 2014 Buick Regal with the 2.0 turbo. I am getting the code p0010 and it tells me it could be the Intake Camshaft Solenoid. I cleared the code and check oil level. that was ok. changed oil also. Code came back. I put in 93 octane and code hasn't come back. any ideas?

Thanks.

I couldnt get my connectors off, any tips?

I finally removed mine. Connector would not release all the way. I was able to remove the little nub that the connector locks onto.. connector came off and was able to still lock onto the new solenoid. Car runs great now. No codes now and passed emissions.

I did mine a few weeks ago ... the job of replacing the solenoids takes about 3 minutes .... getting the second connector disconnected takes about 1 minute or less. Getting the first connector disconnected ..... hmmmmm, 5 minutes, then search for another video, 5 more minutes, take a heat exhaustion break .... and well after about 25 minutes it was off. Thankfully I was fully trained on removing the connectors for the next job which was replacing plugs and coils. Just be careful, and if the coil connector is in a better position, practice on that first. Car ran better with the solenoids replaced, and much much better with the 80K plugs and coils replaced.

Where is the intake camshaft position actuator solenoid?

The intake camshaft actuator features a gray electrical plug and is located closer to the front of the vehicle on the top of the cylinder head.

How much does it cost to replace a camshaft position actuator solenoid?

If you plan on having a shop repair your camshaft solenoid, it can cost anywhere between $50 and $100 dollars just for the part. After that, you have to pay the shop to change the camshaft solenoid, and that runs somewhere between $150 and $300 if you use a professional shop.

Are intake and exhaust VVT solenoid the same?

The exhaust valve is still controlled by way of an oil pressure solenoid, while the intake is controlled by an electric motor on the front of the cam. This allows valve timing to be adjusted with no regard to engine temperature or oil pressure.

Where is the camshaft actuator?

A camshaft actuator is a mechanical or electronic device that is mounted on the camshaft gear.
