The CR2025 battery can simply be removed with your fingers. Place your new battery in the compartment with the face up. Put the plastic disc back on top of the battery, click the two halves of the key fob back together, and insert your internal key. That's it!

Have a CX-9 grand touring and I am not sure what is the battery replacement for my keyless entry card CR-2025, CR1620 or ??
CR-2025 seems to work fine but I just want to know what the right
battery is. Thanks

This question was a bit old but it might be good for others to know that it is indeed CR2025 (3 volts) :-)

Probably wasting my time replying to a 3yr old topic, but here goes,
It depends on what type of remote you have for your CX9. Some take a CR1620 others take a CR2025.
