On my last scan when I went to reset the light, I also got a p0014, p0174, and a p0171. From what I have read, the two latter need to be sorted last, as fixing the others might fix it.

Test the EVT sensors first. And unless whatever you "read" was directly from the FSM, take it with a grain of salt.

I cleared my codes after I replaced the sensor to see if it would stay cleared. That's how deep my skills are

Are Bank 1 and Bank 2 camshaft sensors the same?Q: Are bank 1 and bank 2 sensors the same? Bank 1 and bank 2 have similar sensors. However, bank 1 has two sensors, of which sensor 1 is located near the engine before the catalytic converter, an upstream sensor called pre-CAT, and sensor 2 is located after the catalytic converter called post CAT, a downstream sensor.
Where is the camshaft position sensor on a 2009 Nissan Maxima?Hello - the cam position sensors for this engine (2) are each located near the passenger side end of the cylinder head for each cylinder bank. The engine cover must be removed to access them, and the factory sensors have green plastic connectors, making them a bit easier to spot.
How many camshaft position sensors are in a Nissan Maxima? The Maxima has 2 of them; the right and the left one. Both are on the right side of the engine. Locate them before you start working on them.
